Lovely afternoon chez Mama and family to celebrate AWAD’s 60th birthday. Mum and Robin arrived on the Eurostar from Paris, where they’d spent the weekend. We dined at Skylon, beautifully situated at the Royal Festival Hall overlooking the Thames. We began with Billecart-Salmon champagne, enjoyed Austrian riesling and various delicious dishes. The birthday girl seemed delighted with her pressie – a weekend getting back in touch with the earth via pots. After lunch we strolled down the Southbank to check out the Francis Bacon.
